Background
Optimizing outcomes for patients with heart and vascular disease depends on continued clinical evidence-based and coordinated research. Although more systematic understanding of the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular diseases exists, still many challenges remain for clinicians, researchers, seeking to continue scientific and clinical advancements in the field. Most importantly, more robust data are needed on how well clinical trials are translated into contemporary practice.
The ADONIS-PCI project is a dedicated prospective trial, which will generate data to explore the critical evidence gap regarding the optimal treatment strategy in patients with acute coronary syndrome and atrial fibrillation.
